Media Room Lighting Studio Reservation Tutorial
In addition to housing the art department’s media equipment, the Media Room (CAD 101) also includes a professional lighting studio with photo sweeps for artwork documentation and studio photography/videography. Use the ”Art Department Spaces” Webcheckout page to reserve the lighting studio and photo sweeps.
Eligibility: for access to the lighting studio, students must be currently enrolled in an art class.
Equipment: the studio is equipped with 3 large photo sweeps (8’ x 8’) in white, black, and green, a small photo sweep for sculpture/ceramic documentation, and 3 bi-color LED lights and accessories (softboxes and gels). The lights are mounted to an overhead track, but may be carefully removed and placed on stands, if required. See the photo worker on duty or the technician for assistance.
Reservation Duration: students may reserve the space for up to 4 hours at a time.
Opening/Closing Protocol: If the Media Room (CAD 101) is not open when you arrive, ask the student worker on duty in the photo lab (CAD 122) or the technician (CAD 106A) to unlock the room. Please be respectful of this shared space. Leave it clean and organized.
Current Media Room hours are:
- Sunday: Noon-10:00PM
- Monday: 4:00PM-10:00PM
- Tuesday: 3:00PM-6:00PM
- Wednesday: 3:00PM-10:00PM
- Thursday: 4:00PM-6:00PM
- Friday: 1:00PM-6:00PM
- Saturday: 1:00PM-5:00PM
