Click here for a year-by-year schedule of OLE Core assessment
IN THE FALL:
- Faculty teaching Fall or January Term courses carrying one or more of the OLE Core attributes scheduled for assessment should identify an assignment that they will submit for the Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) they have been assigned.
- You can find your ILO assignment in an email from the Academic Assessment Committee chair. You will only be responsible for submitting student work (artifacts) from a single assignment for a single ILO.
- Reach out to any member of the Academic Assessment Committee for guidance in selecting an assignment or designing an effective prompt. You may also see this page for examples of assignment prompts pulled from past OLE Core assessments.
- The Academic Assessment Committee will identify individuals to serve on rubric development teams to design scoring rubrics for the attributes being assessed that year. Rubric teams will meet to develop draft rubrics (typically a 1-2 hour time commitment).
- All faculty will have a chance to provide feedback on the rubrics towards the end of the semester.
- By the end of the Fall or January Term finals periods, submit your artifacts, assignment prompt, and rationale using the folders on this page.
IN THE SPRING:
- Rubric development teams score sample artifacts to help refine the rubrics.
- Faculty teaching Spring courses within one or more of the OLE Core attributes scheduled for assessment should identify an assignment that they will submit for the Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) they have been assigned.
- You can find your ILO assignment in an email from the Academic Assessment Committee chair.
- Reach out to any member of the Academic Assessment Committee for guidance in selecting an assignment or designing an effective prompt. You may also see this page for examples of assignment prompts pulled from past OLE Core assessments.
- The Academic Assessment Committee will send out an invitation for faculty interested in participating in the summer scoring workshop.
- All faculty are welcome to participate, regardless of whether they teach in the OLE Core areas targeted for assessment. The workshop takes place across three days at the beginning of June and faculty will receive stipends for participating.
- By the end of the Spring finals period, submit your artifacts, assignment prompt, and rationale using the folders on this page.
