Music major applicants should submit the required repertoire shown below for the desired degree program. All music major applicants will be automatically considered for scholarships.
Non-music major applicants should submit the same repertoire as required for the BA music majors.
We would like to encourage you to consider a work by composers from historically underrepresented groups.
A collaborative pianist will be provided for all in person voice auditions. If you are unable to attend the live audition, accompaniment is preferred in the video recording.
B.A. music major, music education, non-music major
Two contrasting selections. Both must be memorized.
- One art song, jazz standard, folk song, or spiritual
- One aria, musical theater, or other story song
B.M. performance major – Classical Voice
Two contrasting selections. Both must be memorized. Please indicate “Classical Voice” in the Instrument (Bachelor of Music – performance major) section of the Music Application. Select “Voice” from the options listed under Audition Instruments.
- One song or aria in a language other than English
- One song in English of your choice, e.g. Classical, Music Theater, CCM, art song, etc.
B.M. performance major – Musical Theater Emphasis
Two contrasting selections. Both must be memorized. Please indicate “Musical Theater” in the Instrument (Bachelor of Music – performance major) section of the Music Application. Select “Voice” from the options listed under Audition Instruments.

- One song from a Contemporary Musical (post-1965) or popular/commercial music
