A portion of the funding for the project in prior years has been provided by 9/11 Day in collaboration with AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, and the Seed Coalition.

Showing Up with Northfield & Beyond: Move-In Day Food Drive
In preparation for one of our Service Saturday projects, we are hosting a Move-in Day Food Drive! St. Olaf is partnering with the Community Action Center in Northfield to gather nonperishable food, household and hygiene items to be distributed at the CAC’s food shelf.
We are challenging the Class of 2030 to show up for your new community on Move-in Day 2026 by, if you are able to, donating food or other needed items. You can find a list of the CAC’s most-needed foods and supplies here. You may also support the food drive by making a donation to the CAC — note St. Olaf Move-In Day with your donation!
Students participating in Service Saturday will deliver the donated food to the CAC.
Thank you, Class of 2030, for your support of the food drive!
Service Saturday Opportunities
St. Olaf’s Service Saturday Program offers students an introduction to civic engagement through an active volunteer experience in their first month on campus. Service Saturday emphasizes a student’s opportunity to make connections not only with classmates, but also, within the Northfield community while striving to understand civic identity and commitment. The wide variety of service options also provide students a chance to reflect on the value of diverse community.
