We’re excited to introduce you to the Professional Staff and Student Staff Leads that support the residential experience. Below you will find the 4 Areas and their breakdowns including: Area Coordinator (AC), Community Building Managers (CBMs) and Residence Facilities Assistants (RFAs), are as follows:

First Year Halls:

Mohn Hall
One of the two towers on campus, Mohn is a ten-story residence hall housing 307 students. The hall, which traditionally houses first-year and upperclass students by floor, offers a main lounge, a recreational room, and a piano room. The circular arrangement of each corridor creates a strong community atmosphere.

Ellingson Hall
Ellingson Hall is located on the Northeast side of campus near Mohn and Thorson Halls. Ellingson Hall is a four story building housing 185 first-year students. With centralized lounge spaces on every floor, Ellingson Hall offers an intellectual atmosphere for students to easily meet, study and hangout outside of their rooms.

Kildahl Hall
Kildahl Hall offers a friendly, comfortable atmosphere for 168 students. The main lounge serves as the center of community, offering many activities and late night conversations around the fireplace. Kildahl is equipped with lofted beds, computer facilities, and a strong community that is ideal for studying and socializing.

Thorson Hall
Thorson Hall houses 235 students and offers a spacious back yard with a patio and provides a striking view of the Northfield community. It has several features, most notably its spacious lounge that is a favorite study and conversation spot.

Occupancy Agreements and Rates
Occupancy Agreement

The Occupancy Agreement outlines the terms for living in St. Olaf College residence halls, ensuring clear expectations for both students and the College. Students are responsible for reviewing and adhering to all policies throughout their stay.
Room Rates

Housing rates vary by room type and are updated annually. Students are responsible for timely payment and should familiarize themselves with the options available to select the best fit for their needs.
Board (Meal Plans) & Costs

All on-campus students are required to choose a meal plan, offering flexible options to suit different schedules and preferences. Students should understand the terms and use their plan responsibly throughout the year.
Prorated Room & Board (Meal Plan)

Click here to review the reasons when a prorated stay can be requested and considered for approval. This list is not all inclusive. There is no grant or scholarship eligibility with prorated housing and meal plan charges. Students will be eligible to work on-campus to help cover these costs.

Eligible students who requests a prorated stay for a semester/term will have a prorated charge for room and board (21 meal plan) placed on their student account.
The Prorated room and board (meal plan) guidelines do not apply to students who are staying on-campus for an entire semester/term.
