Mohn Reslife Team 2025-26 AY
Jade: Heyyyyy everyone! My name is Jade Mac! I am the Student Hall Coordinator (SHC) in Mohn Hall for the 2025-2026 year! I am from sunny California, specifically the Bay Area! I came to St. Olaf with the Posse Foundation with 8 other amazing people! I am a junior social work major and an individual major in human sexuality and comprehensive sexual education, with concentrations in family studies and race and ethnic studies. I am a McNair TRIP scholar and some goals for my future are attending grad school, getting my doctorate, and continuing my journey in education! On a more fun note, you can find me running around at pickleball, badminton, and rugby club! Or you can spot me at one of my on campus jobs! In my free time, I’m chilling with my friends, doing some arts and crafts, or making a dent in my letterboxd watchlist! One thing I am SUPER excited about this year is creating a caring community where everyone looks out for each other! College is a time where there are a lot of changes happening at once, and everyone can have a different reaction to that! Whether you are stressed out of your mind or you feel like you’re just chilling, I want everyone to feel like they have someone to get a meal with or have a quick catch up on the way to class! The top thing I love the most about living on the hill is everyone’s willingness to build community. In residence halls, classes, or social settings, everyone on the hill is a friendly face, you can make a meaningful connection with. I like to believe that everything happens for a reason, which can look different for everyone! I was originally a quantitative economics major and I figured it out it wasn’t for me! But when one door closes, another opens! The Social Work/ Family Studies department is where I found my passion and I was able to envision a future I was genuinely excited for! So with that, embrace everything St. Olaf has to offer!
Abed: Hi, my name is Abed. I’m a sophomore, and I grew up in Gaziantep, Türkiye. I’m excited to support first-year students as they start their college journey and help them feel comfortable on campus. One thing I love about living on The Hill is the welcoming environment and how easy it is to connect with others.
Omar: Hello, My name is Omar, I am a sophomore, and I am from Iraq. I am looking forward to helping and supporting first-years with moving into their college life. One thing I love about the Hill is that the Hill has sports fields and a gym where I can go there and do my exercise.
Tanzila: Hi, my name is Tanzila, a senior majoring in quantitative economics and concentrating in education studies! This year in Res Life, I’m looking forward to creating some fun and chill activities for students to enjoy. Additionally, something that I love about living on The Hill is that it is easy making friends with dorm neighbors!
Ali: Hi my name is Ali. I’m really looking forward to meeting new students this year and helping create a welcoming and supportive environment in our community. My goal is to make sure everyone feels at home on The Hill and has a positive start to their experience here. One of my favorite things about living on The Hill is the friendships I’ve made there’s always someone around to share a laugh, grab food with, or just hang out. I can’t wait to see those same connections grow for all of you!
