Important Notes:
- Financial Aid is not available for the Summer. Students who are looking for financial support should review the Human Resources webpage for student employment opportunities.
- Students who live on-campus during the Summer Session 2 will be required to relocate to the Fall housing assignment before the Summer Session 2 closes.
- Please note that payment for air conditioned residence hall, single and/or premium single rooms can not be guaranteed upon the time of relocation.
- Temporary Housing Assignment Notice: Due to ongoing summer programs and the arrival of some students for Fall trainings, a student requiring housing during the Summer period may be placed in a temporary assignment and relocated as soon as your permanent room becomes available.
Non-St. Olaf persons should complete the Guest Housing Applications.

Housing Rates
Eligibility:
- Employed by the College
- Enrolled in a summer course
- Participating in an internship
- Sponsored guest of the college
- Currently, enrolled student with no other housing options available

Room Assignment:
Each student will receive an assignment upon check-in.
Room requests will be based on the following:
- Lives in Mohn/New Hall currently during current academic year
- Will live in Mohn/New Hall during the fall of the next academic academic year
- Mutual requests of roommate(s)

Intersession Housing:
To be eligible for Intersession housing, students must be enrolled in the upcoming Fall semester. Students who are signed up for Intersession housing will be moved directly into their Fall housing assignment.
- Students not enrolled in Fall courses are required to check out at the close of Summer Session.
Summer II Transition & Check-outs
Check-out with a Residence Life Staff Member is not required; however, if you would like a staff member to assist with your check-out, you may schedule an appointment by visiting the front desk of your residence hall between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- Please note that during the summer, Micro-fridges should not be unplugged.
- Residents are required to follow the basic cleaning guidelines described on the Check-out webpage.
- Key return should be delivered directly to the Summer Community Assistant (SCA) or dropped off at Ytterboe Hall 1st Floor Alcove.
Checking Out After Summer II Session or College Program
All residents must be checked out by Thursday, August 20 at 1:00 p.m. You will remain in your current Mohn Hall and/or New Hall location until that time.
Remaining On-Campus past Thursday August 20
You will relocate to your Fall 2026 housing assignment prior to August 11 if your room is available.
- Key pick-up will take place between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at your Fall 2026 residence hall.
- If your room is not ready at the time of relocation, you will remain in your summer assignment until your space becomes available.

Kitchens
The residence halls provide limited kitchen facilities that allow students to cook their own meals. Limited kitchen supplies will be available to the Mohn Hall front desk during the daytime hours.
Students are expected to clean and maintain the kitchen spaces to ensure that other students may use the facility after them.

Parking
Students living in summer housing may retain an automobile on campus, but must obtain a parking permit through the online parking permit process. Permits are also required for motorcycles and mopeds.

Policies
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and mature manner. It is expected that all students at St. Olaf College will comply with regulations as defined in the code of conduct while they are students, employees, or residents at St. Olaf. Storage
Students may store their belongings in the Summer Hall Storage Room as space permits on a first-come, first-serve basis before the end of the spring semester. Storage will be open at the end of the semester and times will be announced closer to May. When you arrive at the storage during the posted hours, inform the hall staff person working that you will be a summer resident.
At the end of each summer term, arrangements can be made through the Residence Life Office to deposit belongings in the storage room (if space is available) of the residence hall in which you will reside during the upcoming Fall Semester.
