Guidelines for Checking Out Costumes
Search the Costume Database

Preview the costume database and come up with a general idea of what you are looking for, such as:
- Colors you need
- Amount of costumes you need
- The sizes you think you will need
- When you need them by
If students find specific items that they are interested in, please copy the inventory number and the photo image and email Anne VonBibra at vonbibra@stolaf.edu. The student may be asked to consult with a student worker based on their request.
The online inventory does not include the most recent additions to the collection. Students can describe what they’re looking for in their email and student workers will try and accommodate your request.
Recent Companydance costume additions (post 2011) may be requested by indicating the title of the choreography, year, and the faculty or guest artist choreographer. Please note that only some are available for check out to students.
Some Things to Know about Costume Check-Outs:
- they occur when a student worker is available during certain *shifts
- costumes will be located on the hanging rack next to the cutting table or in a pink bin next to it
- costumes must be signed out in the Costume Borrowed Log located next to the tan filing cabinet
- include name, phone number, and email
- leave a description of the costumes and how many
- include the date signed out and the planned return date
*Students can check the whiteboard outside the costume shop for shift information, or include time requests in their email communication
Guidelines for Returning/Checking In Costumes:
When Returning Costumes:
- log the return date in the Costume Borrowed Log; note if not all are returned and when they will be
- place the costumes on the left end of the rack next to the white cutting table
