Area of Specialty
In consultation with the dance faculty, each dance major will declare an individualized Area of Specialty. It comes from the student’s interests, experiences, and developing abilities as a dance major and student. The Area of Specialty is intended to help focus a student’s interests, and will eventually lead to the completion of their senior dance capstone project in that content area. Students are asked to complete 2.0 credits related to their chosen content within or outside of the dance department. If the Area of Specialty includes choreography or performance Dance 374: Advanced Choreography is required during the 2nd or 3rd year; prerequisite is Dance 231.
