How to Apply for a Dance Scholarship
Please read the following instructions before beginning the online application.
A Complete application for the dance scholarship includes:
- Your written response to these questions:
- What are your plans for academic study in college and ideas about your future career goals?
- Why are you interested in the dance program at St. Olaf College?
- To what other schools do you intend to apply? (optional)
- You will be uploading video(s) during the application process. There aren’t any specific requests for these videos other than they show you in what you consider your best light.
- A letter of recommendation from your dance teacher.
- Your dance resume which includes a description of your private study for the past three years, an outline of performance experience in the past four years, a list of honors or awards, and other information that you feel is helpful or relevant to your application.
- In addition to the dance scholarship application, the St. Olaf College application for admission is due January 15.
A note about your dance résumé:
Your dance résumé should include the following information:
- Description of your private study for the past three years. Include teachers’ names and dates of study
- Outline of performance experiences in the past four years. Include school, church, community and regional performances
- List of honors or awards
- Other information that you feel is helpful or relevant to your application
