The following rooms can be reserved by submitting a DiSCO Reservation Request.
Mix 1 (Group Audio Recording Room) – RML 494
This room is configurable for a variety of video recording needs. Common uses include recording of presentation or lecture content, interviews, or other projects that utilize video. Speak with the DiSCO staff or email disco@stolaf.edu to see how this room can meet your needs. We request that this room be requested at least 24 hours in advance to allow for proper setup and allocation of equipment and resources.
Mix 2 (Audio Recording Room) – RML 495
The Audio room has an iMac with dual boot and supports the recording of presentations, interviews, podcasts and screen-captures. Specialized software includes: Audacity, Adobe Audition, and Logic Pro. Email disco@stolaf.edu, or speak with a staff member to reserve the studio.
The Set (Video Recording & VR Room) – RML 493
The Set has 1 or 2 camera set ups available, a teleprompter and options for white, black and green screen backdrops. This space is not a full-fledged video studio, but functions well for 1-2 person on-camera recording. There is also an HTV Vive virtual reality kit available for use.
Teaching Classroom – RML 492
The Teaching Classroom is available for reservation by IT and Library staff to support teaching and learning across all academic divisions and curricula. Faculty interested in using this room for a session, course, or event, should contact the DiSCO with their needs or work directly with their instructional technology or reference librarian liaison. Students may use this room whenever the library is open and it is not scheduled for an event or class.
Cave (Maker’s Space)
The Cave is available for reservation by IT and Library staff to support teaching, learning, and creativity across all academic divisions and curricula. Faculty interested in using this room for a session, course, or event, should contact the DiSCO with their needs or work directly with their instructional technology or reference librarian liaison. Students may use this room whenever the library is open and it is not scheduled for an event or class.
