Mary Carlsen – Oscar and Gertrude Boe Overby Distinguished Professor of Social Work and Family Studies
Essie Broich, ’22 – Student Participant
Students in small groups for SW258: Social Policy worked with the on campus election engagement group and civic engagement ambassadors on five separate projects:
- Non-voting students
- Election ambassadors evaluation
- NSLVE analysis
- User feedback to VOTE site/social media ideas
- Running a meeting/political concepts/Roberts Rules
They used video to record a presentation on how to use Robert’s Rules for student government, surveyed students to evaluate the previous semester’s work on elections, and worked with both the ACE office and Professor Chris Chapp to produce information on why some students didn’t vote and how St. Olaf compared to other colleges in the country
