Ellie Jenniges attended Humboldt High School and graduated in 2007. She started participating in TRIO Educational Talent Search and the Mentoring program in 9th grade. Ellie went on mentoring field trips with ETS to visit colleges and gain more perspective on the college scene. She feels that the staff were great and were there to answer so many of her questions, and taught her so much about college, how important it is and how to be successful. “I wouldn’t have even known where to start when it came to planning for my future it is wasn’t for those fantastic people!”
Ellie graduated from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls with a BS in psychology and a minor in communication disorders. She is currently working for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as a Loan Documentation Specialist and helps people with their loans when purchasing a new house.
Ellie’s advice to current or future ETS participants, “Please do not take these people for granted! They work to the best of their ability and they use all of the resources possible to help you shape your future. These people are intelligent and have all experienced the full college life, so they know better than anyone how college is going to be. Do as many things with them as you can, especially the volunteering and college visits. Listen to the ETS people and get involved because it really is a great program and you should be lucky to have the opportunity to be in this program!”
