As an incoming student with a work award, you have two options for securing a job. You may either find a job on your own through a traditional search or you may complete the placement form to have a job assigned to you.
Many of the positions will not make hiring decisions until classes have begun. Once you have received responses regarding all of the jobs you applied for, you may contact Amarin Chanthorn if you need assistance securing a position or additional hours. You may also visit the Human Resources office in Tomson Hall, 180 for assistance. We encourage you to continue to view current openings here and contact departments directly to inquire about available positions.
When you are hired for a position, your supervisor will send an employment authorization to your St. Olaf email. Be sure to read through and accept it as soon as possible. By accepting the employment authorization, a time sheet will be created in the Time Entry System (TES). More about this will be addressed later.
Some jobs will offer limited hours. It is common for students to have two different jobs to earn their full work award amount. If you need assistance finding additional employment, stop by the Human Resources office in Tomson Hall, 180 or email Amarin Chanthorn (chanth1@stolaf.edu).
Some departments will require you to sign up for shifts. Although these shifts may fill quickly in the fall, openings occur as the year progresses. Your supervisor can provide you with specific information regarding the best way to obtain future hours.
