The St. Olaf Student Learning Item Catalog is an index of questionnaire items and recent results from various assessment surveys, indexed by the aspects of student learning addressed in the items rather than by the source of the data. Use of the catalog enables the examination of findings from multiple sources concerning both learning experiences (e.g., students’ participation in high-impact educational practices, students’ use of time, types of assignments completed, etc.) and learning outcomes (e.g., critical thinking, effective writing, research proficiency, global perspective).
The categories in the catalog are based on the essential learning outcomes and high-impact educational practices disseminated by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).
