Our team is excited to share a copy of the schedule for our upcoming New Student Orientation experience, designed specifically for the Class of 2029!
As you review the schedule, we have two important things to keep in mind:
- We know that it looks like a lot! While we will certainly keep you busy during NSO, there is also a lot of time that is built in for rest, campus exploration, and fun! Not all the time blocks on the schedule represent orientation sessions.
- We continue to develop the schedule over the summer, so this copy is likely to change! You will receive a formal copy of the schedule when you arrive on campus.
You may be asking: Who are the people I will experience NSO with? At St. Olaf, we want to make sure you leave NSO with connections from a few different places on campus. As such, we build your orientation experience around three differ groups of people with whom you will attend sessions or participate in activities. For short, we call them SOAR, FLOOR, and MORE.
SOAR
SOAR groups are small, peer-led groups that are connected to your FYS, WRR, or Conversation program class. You’ll meet with you SOAR group for the first time on Move-In Day and navigate much of NSO together!
FLOOR
Your FLOOR is comprised of the people you live with in your residence hall! You will meet with your floor in and out of the hall during NSO to build connections and learn about topics that tie closely to life on campus.
MORE
MORE groups are small groups of Oles who share a personal interest. We’ll ask you about your interests to form these groups in your summer module. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the Hill with your More group during NSO.
