St. Olaf College | COVID-19

April 3, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

Dear St. Olaf Community,

With the rising numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases across Minnesota and the country, we appreciate that individuals, especially those who are at greater risk or who have family at greater risk, will wish to receive timely and accurate information about instances of COVID-19 on campus. As cases are confirmed, we will continue to work with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to follow their guidance for informing members of the St. Olaf community. In an effort to balance the need to provide useful information with protecting individuals’ privacy, we will not be providing details beyond those that we are directed by MDH to provide, including announcements to the broader community about individuals who have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

IF YOU HAVE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS AND ARE LIVING ON CAMPUS
  • Please CALL FIRST: Northfield Hospital Triage Line 507-646-1494 (daytime hours) or 507-646-1100 (Emergency Department). There is also a COVID-19 information line at 507-646-1919.
  • CDC also has a symptom checker for those currently residing in the United States. This tool is to help people determine whether they should seek medical care.
  • For rides to the hospital, call Public Safety at 507-786-3666 to arrange transport in a Safe Ride Van.
  • If you are exposed or evaluated/tested for COVID-19 while here on campus or away from campus, please fill out this form.
IF YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER HAVE A POSSIBLE COVID-19 EXPOSURE

  • MDH will advise the college on what our role is and the appropriate next steps to take. The St. Olaf Coronavirus Response Team will coordinate response efforts with appropriate college offices.
  • As always, the individual who is diagnosed should follow the advice given to them by their health care provider and/or consult the MDH hotline for guidance (651-201-3920 or 1-800-657-3903, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
