Dancers make use of their bodies in demanding and unique ways when they move, rehearse, and perform. After dancing for hours a day over several years, a seemingly innocuous habit can become a chronic physical injury, limiting a dancer’s ability to move to their fullest. It is the Dance Department’s hope that students integrate a solid understanding of how their bodies and their mental state relate to and impact their dancing and what is required to maintain good health as a dancer.
