The Junior Research Fellowship Program – Instructions to Apply
Applications materials are due by April 1, 2026.
Submit the application form via Google Form (see below). Submit all supporting materials—including letters of recommendation—as email attachments (pdf or Word document) to KSI-Application@stolaf.edu by the application deadline. Please include “Junior Research Fellowship” in the subject line of all emails.
Application Process:
1. Application Form
Complete and submit the Kierkegaard Summer Institute Junior Research Fellowship Application Form.
2. Cover Letter
Submit a cover letter that:
– identifies your current academic level (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate);
– explains your interest in the program; and
– describes your commitment to active participation in the Kierkegaard Summer Institute’s programming.
3. Research Proposal (2–3 pages)
Outline your proposed project. Strong proposals often:
– present a clear research question and scope;
– engage relevant scholarship;
– describe aims and approach;
– reflect on the project’s significance;
– include a short bibliography.
Please also note the intended outcome (e.g., thesis, conference paper, or graduate writing sample).
4. CV / Résumé
Submit a current CV or résumé.
5. Recommendation Letters
Arrange for two academic recommendation letters to be sent directly to the email above.
