The Kierkegaard Library, A Research Center

For nearly half a century, the Hong Kierkegaard Library at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota has served as a Research Center in Kierkegaard studies, welcoming scholars from around the world to gather in a vibrant research community. As a functioning research hub for the global Kierkegaard community, the Kierkegaard Library offers programming, such as lectures, seminars, workshops, Danish instruction, and other academic events, and research stays, both during the academic year and summer months.

The Kierkegaard Summer Institute is at the heart of the Kierkegaard Library. During June and July an international community gathers at the Kierkegaard Library to exchange ideas, participate in seminars, and conduct independent research. Visitors range from undergraduates and early graduate students to seasoned Kierkegaard scholars. A multiplicity of disciplines, approaches, and perspectives come into dialogue here, and everyone comes away richer for the exchange.
