New Student Orientation
You will likely hear the phrase “Welcome to St. Olaf” dozens of times over the coming months and trust us, we mean it! We are thrilled you are joining our St. Olaf community and we cannot wait to welcome you as you begin your St. Olaf experience! New Student Orientation is here to help you as you navigate the college transition – let’s get started!
The Common Read is a book that all new St. Olaf students read prior to the fall and it serves a few different purposes. For one, you will have a discussion facilitated by a staff or faculty member to introduce you to the type of classroom conversations you will have as a student on the Hill. It also centers around a topic connected to equity and inclusion, prompting your thinking about how to navigate dialogues around real issues impacting our community and society.
We are excited to announce our selection for the 2021 Common Read: Catherine Coleman Flowers’ Waste: One Women’s Fight Against America’s Dirty Secret.
