University Internships
The Research Internships in Science and Engineering Program (RISE) at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), run by the Materials Research Laboratory, provides an opportunity for students from all over the country to travel to UCSB and work in a research laboratory for 10 weeks. Internships span an array of fields including materials, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, computer science, and mechanical engineering. The Maritime Studies Program of Williams College & Mystic Seaport in Connecticut is offering an interdisciplinary undergraduate semester focused on the world’s oceans with courses in history, marine sciences, environmental policy, and literature of the sea. The program encourages applications from undergraduate students of all majors from accredited four-year institutions. Each semester, students from 12 to 14 different colleges representing up to 15 majors attend Williams-Mystic. Sophomores, juniors and seniors may attend. No previous sailing experience is necessary, but the program seeks students who are eager for new experiences and who look forward to studying in a compelling academic environment. Please note that Williams-Mystic operates on a rolling admissions basis. it is recommended that you submit your application as early as possible for Fall or Spring.
