Residence Life

St. Olaf’s beautiful residential campus is a center for academic, social, cultural, and recreational activities. The Office of Residence Life strives to engage, motivate, and challenge students in 11 residence halls and 19 honor houses across campus serving 96 percent of the student body. We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and student-centered living environment that promotes personal and academic success.

Living and interacting with a diverse group of students in an environment created to enhance your academic success is what you should expect while attending St. Olaf. You will live in a rich and rewarding learning environment as you discover yourself, others, the college, and the world around you. You can take advantage of opportunities to be active in your community. Positions as a student staff member, hall council member, or working the front desk further your involvement and connectedness in your residence hall.

The Office of Residence Life is committed to promoting student learning in a safe and secure living environment.  We encourage and support:  community responsibility; development of leadership skills and social confidence; respect for others; and healthy, balanced lifestyles.  In collaboration with our colleagues across campus, we strive to connect in-class and out-of-class experiences to foster individual growth.
