In April 2016, President David Anderson appointed a ten-member Title IX Working Group to critically review college policies, seek input from the community, and make recommendations for policy changes to be implemented by the start of the 2016–17 school year. Under the leadership of St. Olaf Regent Tim Maudlin ’73, the Working Group gathered advice from students who had participated firsthand in St. Olaf’s Title IX processes; reviewed the work of other colleges and universities with robust policies; and examined research and best practices recommendations from external experts. The group released its final report and recommendations on July 14, 2016, and the President responded shortly thereafter with a commitment to swift implementation and ongoing updates to the college community.
