This shuttle service will now be shared between St. Olaf and Carleton providing daytime transportation in Northfield and Dundas for students to get to medical appointments, pharmacy trips, or to volunteer or work locally. This service is not intended for shopping or entertainment.
Hours are expanded to 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM and will run Monday – Friday while either campus is open.
Students can schedule trips in advance by calling 651-203-8888 or call the day of by calling 507-301-4818 roughly 20-30 minutes before they wish to be picked up at either Buntrock Commons, or the stop on St. Olaf Avenue. The driver will then work with the student on a plan to return to campus. This service is free to students with a St. Olaf ID.
The Hiawathaland Express bus is a public, shortened route (compared to the Blue and Red Hiawathaland routes) that is free to ride with a St. Olaf ID. The Express bus is most commonly utilized to access shopping, dining, and the movie theater and runs Monday – Saturday, 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
Hiawathaland Transit is public transportation, providing daytime transportation services to locations within the city limits of Northfield. Hiawathaland Transit has established routes that service the majority of the city limits. Riders may get on the route at their own discretion. Please see map for route stop locations and times. Normal route service is free with a St. Olaf ID.
A Dial-A-Ride bus is also available in Northfield for stops outside of the regular Red and Blue routes. St. Olaf students can pick up Dial-A-Ride tokens from the Buntrock Office for $2.50. You may also purchase tokens online with a credit card here. To schedule a ride, call the dispatch center at (866)-623-7505 between the hours of 5:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Friday or between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturday. Hiawathaland Transit recommends riders make a reservation 24 hours in advance.
Hiawathaland Transit established a direct route between Northfield and Faribault City Halls. The route has a one-way ride fee of $3.50. Rides can be paid in exact change or using a token that can be purchased at City Hall, Cub Foods, and the Just Foods Co-op.
