Domestic Health Insurance

2019-2020

St. Olaf requires that all students enrolled at the College have health insurance coverage. If you are not covered under a comparable health insurance policy, you will be required to participate in the student insurance plan which is offered through EIIA in collaboration with United Health Care Student Resources.

All students must complete the online student health insurance form EACH YEAR, whether enrolling or waiving.  The deadline to waive the student health insurance for the fall semester is 11:59 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2019.  The deadline for spring semester is 11:59 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

If the form has not been completed prior to that time, the student will be automatically enrolled in the St. Olaf insurance policy and the $2,133 premium will be non-refundable. The waiver needs to only be submitted once per academic year. We encourage you to review your current health insurance policy with your parents to ensure that it sufficiently covers you while pursuing your academic interests at St. Olaf.

Enrollment Instructions:

You have the option to enroll yourself in the plan if you need to receive your health insurance card before the end of the enrollment period.  This will confirm to the insurance company that you are not planning on waiving the insurance.

  1. Visit the EIIA website.
  2. Click on the Enroll Domestic
  3. Enter in the required information
  4. Submit

Waiver Instructions:

You can follow the instructions below if you covered under an alternative and would like to waive the student insurance policy. Please note that it may take more than a week for the charge on your student account to be reversed.  You will receive a confirmation from the EIIA that your waiver was submitted, but it may take a week for the insurance company to determine if it’s a valid policy.  The insurance company will reach out to you to correct any issues with your waiver.

  1. Visit the EIIA website.
  2. Click on the Waive button
  3. Enter in the required information and a valid alternative health insurance policy.
  4. Submit
  5. You will receive an email to confirm your submission. Keep this email until you see the charge removed from your student bill.
