Welcome new and returning students!
If you are planning to audition for a St. Olaf music ensemble, please review the concert attire expectations below so that you can prepare as necessary over the summer before arriving on campus. (For ensembles not listed here, your conductor will communicate concert attire details upon arrival.)
If you anticipate financial issues with obtaining concert attire, you are invited to apply for “Emergency Fund” assistance via this website once you arrive on campus. If you have non-financial questions about concert attire, contact Sarah Gingerich in the office of Music Organizations at gingeric@stolaf.edu.
Please note that both instrumental and choral ensembles have two types of concert attire: Standard and Alternate. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page for a description of alternate concert attire.
Instrumental: Standard Concert Attire

Choral: Standard Concert Attire (Robes)
Choral musicians will be assigned a choir robe for their ensemble. The following are the options to wear with your robe. You must choose one option to wear with your robe; not a combination of both.

Alternate Concert Attire: Instrumental and Choral
For performances in which you do not wear standard concert attire or robes (i.e. chapel services, high school workshops, etc.), the expected attire will be your alternate concert attire. Your conductor will let you know when you should wear alternate concert attire instead of standard concert attire.
