Food for thought…
There are a number of considerations to make when involving food in your event.
What food do you wish to have at your event?
Where can you order food from?
Where is your event being held?
How much can you spend?
How will you safely store and serve your food?
BON APPÉTIT CATERING
Bon Appétit is able to create a custom menu for almost any event. While there is a form avaliable on the website, catering through Bon Appétit is best arranged by email. Catering orders must be placed at least two weeks before your event is scheduled to occur.
LION’S PAUSE
The Lion’s Pause offers a number of catering options from their regular menu, including pizza, beverages, and cookies. Large orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance.
OUTSIDE FOOD
If Bon Appétit is unable to accommodate a food request, student organizations must get approval from the OSA to use an outside licensed food vendor.
Food Preparation and Storage
Student organizations have access to a kitchenette (BC 113) for light food preparation. The kitchenette includes a sink, refrigerator, and freezer. To access the kitchenette, please connect with a member of the OSA staff. Food preparation that is more complex or involves the cooking of food must be done in consultation with the OSA.
Unopened, non-perishable, and/or recently prepared food is able to be stored in the student organization kitchenette or in student organization storage for a short period of time during the academic year. No food can be stored over the summer.
