Student Health Service

St. Olaf College’s partnership with Northfield Hospital & Clinics combines traditional on-campus care with a cutting-edge virtual diagnostic service that students can access anytime, anywhere. The partnership includes having an on-campus certified nurse practitioner who can diagnose, treat, and write prescriptions for common illnesses and injuries.

Students who need additional medical attention for more complex conditions can access local clinics or will be referred.  Northfield Hospital & Clinics has an excellent staff of providers, and partners with a broad range of premier providers — including Mayo Clinic, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, University of Minnesota Medical Center, and Hennepin County Medical Center.

Students have access to  Zipnosis — a 24/7 online diagnostic platform that can provide a clinician-based diagnosis and treatment plan (as well as a prescription, if needed) for common medical conditions.  To use Zipnosis, students need to register on the site and utilize an access code (sent to them by email at the start of the year).
