SCOPE OF WORK
The director of public relations works with campus leaders and thought leaders at St. Olaf to share stories about the college with media and external audiences. Our goal is to highlight the people and programs at St. Olaf, as well as the value the college provides to our students, families, and local and statewide community.
Statement on Ethics
Aligned with the PRSA Code of Ethics, the director of public relations serves as a bridge between St. Olaf, news organizations, and the public through objectivity, honesty, responsible advocacy, and fairness.

FOR JOURNALISTS
St. Olaf College welcomes the opportunity to work with journalists, and our team is happy to arrange interviews with college administrators, faculty, staff, and students. The director of public relations serves as the media liaison and the principal media spokesperson for the college.
Visiting Campus
St. Olaf is a private institution, and media may be invited to or seek permission to come to campus. Notify the director of public relations in advance so we can help facilitate your visit.

Media Parking
Please adhere to the following guidelines when visiting campus:
– Vehicles belonging to journalists must be parked legally.
– Equipment must not damage college property.
– Equipment, vehicles, and personnel must not restrict traffic or access to buildings and fire lanes.
– Additional restrictions on the use of television cameras, still cameras, flash photography, and other special lighting and audio equipment may be implemented on a case-by-case basis to minimize disruption or protect safety or security. If security is an issue, these items may be subject to inspection.
