Campus Weapons Policy

St. Olaf is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.  In support of this commitment, St. Olaf prohibits the possession and/or use of weapons, regardless of their legality, on college premises to include firearms, edged weapons (knives, swords, etc) over 6 inches, chemical irritants (mace, pepper spray, etc.) and conducted energy weapons (tasers, stun guns, etc.). Also prohibited are the use, possession or manufacture of explosives, including, but not limited to fireworks.

With regard to off-campus activities, faculty, staff and students are also prohibited from possessing weapons while operating college vehicles, while engaging in college business, or while participating in a St. Olaf event.  This weapons prohibition does not apply to authorized security or law enforcement personnel.
