If you observe or are involved in a hazardous materials spill (biological, chemical, radiological or fuel), you must act quickly to protect yourself and others in the area.
If the incident occurs indoors, close all doors to isolate the area IF it is safe to do so.
1. Leave the area immediately and move to a safe area
2. From a safe area, call Public Safety x3666 and report the location of the spill
3. Be prepared to provide the following information
- Location of the spill
- Type and quantity of the material
- If anyone was injured or exposed to the material
- Your name and current location
- Remain in the safe area and meet emergency responders or evacuate the building if necessary
If the incident occurs outdoors, leave the area immediately and move to a safe location.
