What is finance? What are the different types of jobs in finance? How do I decide where I might fit?
These questions and more are answered during Finance 101, a program designed to connect students early to the possibilities for careers in finance. Presented by alumni currently working in the field, the program will introduce the world of finance broadly and then break down each functional area to help you decide where you might fit.
Stephanie Wissink ’02, Managing Director at Jefferies Financial Group, opened the event with a keynote presentation, followed by young alumni briefly sharing their experiences in their area of finance. Alumni discussed the following areas: corporate finance, public finance, fixed income trading, equity research, private banking, asset management, corporate development, investment banking, and alternative asset management.
