Emotional Well-Being
The Wellness Center takes public health approach to emotional well-being, with a specific focus on increasing stress management skills and educational resources geared towards the underlying factors that contribute to emotion intelligence.
Emotional wellbeing can be defined as the state of well-being in which the individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community.
Emotional intelligence themes include recognizing positive and negative feelings, coping mechanisms, stress management, communication skills, self-esteem, adjustments to college, homesickness, connection with the community, and balancing responsibilities.
