Project Management Program

Interested in project management, product management, or developing skills that can be applied across a variety of careers? The Project Management program offers two online learning pathways designed to help students build practical, career-relevant project management skills.

Students can choose between Foundations of Project Management, a 13+ hour introductory experience focused on core project management concepts, or the Google Project Management Professional Certificate, a more comprehensive 25+ hour pathway that allows students to develop a deeper set of practical project management skills.

Through online coursework and reflection, students will explore topics including project planning, organization, communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving while considering how these skills connect to their academic interests and future career goals.

Foundations of Project Management is a great option for students who want to explore the field and build foundational knowledge. The Google Project Management Professional Certificate is intended for students with a strong interest in project management who are planning to sit for the CAPM® exam. Students who select the certificate pathway are required to complete the program and sit for the CAPM® exam within one month of the end of January Term.

Students selected for this program must commit to completing their chosen pathway. Additional information about time commitments and program requirements will be provided before students begin.

The specific outcomes of this program are to:

Build a foundational understanding of project management concepts, terminology, and processes.
Develop practical skills in project planning, organization, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership.
Understand how project management principles and processes work together to move projects from planning through successful completion.
Apply project management concepts and tools to academic, professional, and team-based projects.
Explore career pathways in project management, product management, and related fields.
Prepare for the CAPM® exam through the Google Project Management Professional Certificate pathway and identify next steps for continued professional development.

Junior or senior with a strong academic record (exceptional sophomores may be considered)
Students from any academic discipline are welcome to apply
Strong interest in project management and related career opportunities
Ability to effectively work as part of a team
Commitment to completing the selected online learning pathway
For the Google Project Management Professional Certificate pathway: strong interest in pursuing project management and commitment to sitting for the CAPM® exam within one month of the end of January Term
