This program provides students with the opportunity to design and fabricate a wide variety of projects using a broadly available range of materials, including: wood, metal, and plastics. Students will be introduced to each of the following materials (and, the affiliated safety measures) during the first week of the program. Each student will have the opportunity to choose one material to build a final prototype or project.
Basic building skills allow students to design and fabricate a wide variety of projects using a broadly available range of materials. Equally important, these skills form a foundation for learning to safely and effectively use a broad array of machining tools appropriate for machining any materials, including wood, metals, and plastics.
