Undergraduate Training Program in Biomedical Research

This summer research position allows three St. Olaf students to work within a Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Center lab at the University of Minnesota. This is an intensive 10-11 week summer research position that does not include opportunities to shadow on a regular basis. Students apply for this opportunity through Handshake and complete on-campus interviews to be selected as semi-finalists. Dr. John Wagner, MD, who oversees the program, will make the final student selections for this program.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this program has been on hold for 2020-2021 and is on hold for Summer 2022.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current sophomore or junior
2. Pre-med
3. Strong communication skills
4. A passion for research AND comfortable with animal research
5. Strong academically
6. Completion of Biodiversity Foundations (BIO 150) and Cell Biology (BIO 227) and Genetics (BIO 233) is preferred by June
