Business professional clothing
- A two-piece pant or skirt suit in black, charcoal, navy, or another dark color (solid color or a simple pattern)
- A conservatively colored dress shirt or blouse with a collar (not low cut or sheer)
- Dark, closed-toe dress shoes with a low or moderate heel
- Conservative jewelry or makeup, worn in moderation
Business casual clothing
The main difference between business professional and business casual is the use of a two-piece suit.
For business casual, you do not need to wear a full two-piece suit.
Instead, you may choose professional separates, as in the following examples:
- A collared dress shirt with slacks and close-toed shoes (no tie required)
- A dress in a conservative color that is cut in a suit-like fabric and paired with a blazer
- A professional skirt paired with a collared shirt/blouse without a collar and a dressy sweater/blazer
In general, a pair of dress slacks, trousers, or a skirt are appropriate in black, charcoal, gray, or khaki.
