Program Overview
St. Olaf students have the opportunity to participate in a newly created Foundations of Real Estate (FoRE) Certification program. It is a 30-hour, asynchronous, self-paced course (with a few live sessions) that is designed to introduce liberal arts students to commercial real estate.
The program is offered through the Urban Land Institute (ULI), one of the nation’s premier real estate development and sustainability associations. Its mission is to “shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide.”
TIMEFRAME: Dec 16, 2021 – Feb 17, 2022
AUDIENCE: Students interested in urban planning, sustainable urban development, commercial real estate, and public policy.
TIME EXPECTATION: 30 hours (approximately 3 hours per week)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Designed to deliver a substantive introduction to the fundamental issues and concepts in commercial real estate, each of the component modules covers a different aspect of the field of real estate. Upon completion of the certificate, you will have gained a solid understanding of the fundamentals of commercial real estate.
