The week will include a rotating schedule of service program tabling in Buntrock, one-on-one meetings with alumni, information sessions, and more! Read below for a full schedule. All class years welcome!
What is Social Impact?
Social Impact encompasses opportunities that are available within mission-driven organizations that seek to promote positive change. Whether you are passionate about policy, environmental sustainability, families and youth, or immigrants and refugees, there are organizations that share your goals. Check out this resource to learn more about some common professional roles within the nonprofit sector.

- Morgan Smith ’12, MHA, MBA, Manager, Health Care for the Homeless (Hennepin County Public Health Department)
- St. Olaf Major: So/An & Management Studies
- Bio: Morgan is passionate about health equity, social justice, and healthcare advocacy. Prior to finding a career in public health, Morgan worked for a healthcare marketing start-up, Allina Health Headquarters, and served as a manager of three oncology clinics at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
- Greta Gaetz ’10, MSW, Director of Government Affairs, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity
- St. Olaf Major: History & So/An
- Bio: Greta is a licensed social worker and registered lobbyist, and works to increase public support for affordable and equitable housing. Greta has worked with a range of nonprofits providing health and disability services including Lutheran Social Service, Planned Parenthood, and Minnesota AIDS Project.
- Geoffery Carlisle ’10, MPA (Graduating May 2023), Policy Consultant, Deans for Impact
- St. Olaf Major: Environmental Studies & Music
- Bio: Geoffrey serves as a Policy Consultant for a nonprofit and advocates for protecting LGBTQIA+ students in the Texas Legislature and State Board of Education. Geoffrey taught 8th grade science and sex education in Texas and Mississippi for 12 years and still writes science curriculum on the side.
