The Business Office offers a number of services for the convenience of students and employees. Please see below the listing of these services.
Cash advances for student organizations, departments and employees can be done at the Business Office window. Please see Procedures for Cash Advance for Student Organizations, Departments and Employees for additional information.
Check cashing services are available at the Business Office window or at the Bookstore. The limit is $150 per day. International checks, as well as checks issued by St. Olaf, are not accepted.
A completed Business Office Deposit Form and backup (whenever available) to substantiate the deposit should accompany all deposits of cash and checks and be dropped off in the Business Office. If depositing checks, please attach a summary sheet totaling the checks that shows name and amount (and check number if possible). This will help the Business Office identify NSF checks.
Please note that Lawson does not produce a receipt. Please keep a copy of your completed deposit slip if you need this for your records. Deposits can be sealed tightly in an envelope or bag and dropped in the wall depository when the office is closed.
Money orders are no longer available from the Business Office, but there are a number of locations within Northfield where they can be purchased. The closest locations to campus are the Northfield Post Office, Wells Fargo, EconoFoods, and Walgreens. Fees vary by location.
Student payments can be made at the Business Office window. Please see Student Account Billing and Payment Process for more information.
Notary Public services are available at no charge in Tomson Hall from 8:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-4:00pm. Please bring photo identification with your document and do not sign that document until you are in front of the Notary.
