1970-71 – Delta Chi chapter of Eta Sigma Phi was established on May 10, 1971.
1971-72 – Mark P. Gravrock ’73 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Tiffin, OH.
1972-73 – Mark P. Gravrock ’73 served as Megas Grammateus of Eta Sigma Phi.
1981-82 – Christopher C. Smith ’82 won the Eta Sigma Phi Summer Scholarship to the American Academy in Rome.
1983-84 – Ansis V. Viksnins ’85 and Carol D. Marckel ’84 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Austin, TX.
1984-85 – Ansis V. Viksnins ’85 served as Megas Hyparchos of Eta Sigma Phi; the national convention was held at St. Olaf College, April 18-20; Margaret A. Emond ’85 won the Eta Sigma Phi Summer Scholarship to the American Academy in Rome.
1985-86 – James E. Moore ’86 served as Megas Prytanis of Eta Sigma Phi and attended the national convention in Richmond, VA.
1986-87 – Sonja M. Froyen ’88 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Terre Haute, IN.
1987-88 – Sonja M. Froyen ’88 and Beth D. Ecker ’88 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Baltimore, MD.
1990-91 – Erik S. Weber ’91 won $50 for a paper (“The Seven Sages”) he submitted and read at the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Tallahassee, FL.
1993-94 – Lousene M. Hoppe ’94, Todd D. Janke ’94, and Randall S. Piper ’95 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Louisville, KY.
1996-97 – Melissa M. Amland ’98, Matthew R. Beise ’97, Helene J. Bergeson ’98, Garett S. Gentry ’97, Jeremiah J. Harrelson ’99, Jena Marie Iffert ’98, and Leah Dinene Slagter ’99 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Minneapolis, MN.
2000-01 – Kristina L. Alton ’02, Marquis S. Berrey ’03, Jennifer L. Brown ’01, David R. Schiedler ’04, Peter E. Sprangers ’03, Matthew C. Steenberg ’01, and Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Monmouth, IL; Steenberg (wearing yellow cape with pompons) won a prize for the “best-dressed vir” at the Roman banquet.
2001-02 – Marquis S. Berrey ’03, Julia L. Kelto ’04, David R. Schiedler ’04, and Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in San Diego, CA.
2002-03 – Esther J. Lee ’03 and Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Norman, OK.
2003-04 – Kathleen R. Burt ’04, Stephanie E. Walker ’05, and Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in New Orleans, LA.
2004-05 – Stephanie E. Walker ’05 served as Megale Prytanis of Eta Sigma Phi; the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi was held at St. Olaf, April 15-17.
2006-07 – Michael C. Dow ’08, Andrea J. Horbinski ’07, Kayla A. Rasmussen ’08, and Daniel A. White ’09 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Philadelphia, PA.
2007-08 – Martin P. Shedd ’11 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Amherst, MA.
2008-09 – Thomas K. Halvorsen ’10 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Memphis, TN and was elected Megas Hyparchos.
2009-10 – Thomas K. Halvorsen ’10 served as Megas Hyparchos of Eta Sigma Phi and attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Blacksburg, VA.
2016-17 – Joseph A.C. Burkhart ’17, Mary Landis Gaston ’19, Herman Hannan ’18, Kirby L. Schoephoerster ’17, Joseph G. Spellman ’19, and Dylan K. Walker ’18 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Ann Arbor, MI.
2017-18 – Joseph G. Spellman ’19 served as Megas Chrysophylax of Eta Sigma Phi. Devin P. Ames ’19, Palmer S. Brown ’18, Clara A. Gambill ’20, Mary Landis Gaston ’19, Gabrielle M. Lattery ’20, Charles H. Mayo III ’18, JuliAnne N. Rach ’20, and Joseph G. Spellman ’19 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Carlisle, PA.
2018-19 – Joseph G. Spellman ’19 served as Megas Prytanis of Eta Sigma Phi. The national convention of Eta Sigma Phi was held at St. Olaf, March 22-24.
2020-21 – Tafari Bellete ’21, Madeline T. Chang ’24, Dominic M. Diana ’23, Emma K. Bunde ’21, Elizabeth A. Barth ’21, Julia C. Walter ’21, and Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the online national convention of Eta Sigma Phi, hosted by Truman State University; Walter’s team won the Taberna Trivia Contest.
2021-22 – Emily K. Knuths ’22 and Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the online national convention of Eta Sigma Phi, hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
2022-23 – Prof. Anne H. Groton attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Monmouth, IL.
2023-24 – Sofia G. Albrecht ’25, Joseph H. Richards ’25, and Laura M. Smith ’25 attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi in Carlisle, PA.
2024-25 – The national convention of Eta Sigma Phi will be held at St. Olaf, March 14-16 (tentative dates).
