7 courses in Greek (only 6 courses if the student begins Greek at the 231 level or higher)

Classics 370

1 Greek history course (or 1 Classics GHS course)

Intended Learning Outcomes for a Major in Greek

Students will demonstrate: 

  1. advanced knowledge of the ancient Greek language.
  2. the ability to translate and analyze ancient Greek literature in at least three genres.
  3. basic cultural knowledge about ancient Greece.

Departmental distinction is not awarded in Greek (only in Classics).
