Norwegian 231: Intermediate Norwegian I

The first half of the intermediate Norwegian sequence and emphasizes three main areas:

  • expanding your knowledge of Norwegian vocabulary, grammar, and linguistic conventions;
  • continuing to develop the four skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening;
  • deepening your insight into Norwegian culture through exposure to information about Norwegian work life, personal economy and social class, health and healthcare, and childhood and adolescence.

Reading and discussion of authentic literary and cultural texts allow students to expand their vocabulary and knowledge of the Norwegian way of life. Prerequisite: Norwegian 112 or equivalent. Offered annually in the Fall Semester.  In some years, we also offer this course during the Spring Semester.
